The Cardiothoracic Surgeons of Grand Traverse provide a comprehensive program of cardiothoracic surgical procedures at Munson Medical Center including on and off pump coronary artery bypass grafting, minimally invasive and conventional cardiac valve repair and replacement, surgical correction of atrial fibrillation, cardiac and great vessel reconstruction, ventricular assist device placement, the full spectrum of lung and esophageal operations, management of mediastinal masses, chest wall resection and others.

Munson's Cardiothoracic Surgery Program under the direction of the Cardiothoracic Surgeons of Grand Traverse enjoys the benefits of new state-of-the art cardiac catheterization laboratories and cardiac operating rooms, as well as dedicated cardiothoracic intensive care and step-down units. A complete complement of sub-specialists, including invasive and noninvasive cardiologists, electrophysiologists, cardiac anesthesiologists, pulmonologists, nephrologists, invasive radiologists, general and vascular surgeons, and many others contribute to the high standard of care and high levels of patient satisfaction documented at Munson Medical Center.

Munson Medical Center and the Cardiothoracic Surgeons of Grand Traverse are served by North Flight EMS, which provides an integrated transport system for critically ill and injured patients that includes nationwide fixed wing services, helicopter services throughout the lower Michigan peninsula and ground ambulance services throughout Northern Michigan.
